- Liberty Dollar Fair - Will be Extraordinary! Late breaking news: Michael Badnarik, Libertarian presidential candidate, will speak at High Noon at the new Liberty Dollar Fair. We changed the name from the Grand Opening to Liberty Dollar Fair, as it just didn't accurately describe the event. I can guarantee you that this will be a truly unique event… G. Edward Griffin will make two presentations, one on the Federal Reserve at a dinner that is open to the public on Friday night, October 1, and a second presentation on his new Freedom Force organization at the Fair on Saturday, October 2. Gallery Mint will be there with a live minting demonstration including melting, rolling, blanking, edge marking, and minting a special commemorative "coin" to commemorate the Liberty Dollar's 6th Anniversary! It will be up close and personal - not to be missed! Do you like Bluegrass music? Well the Fair concludes with a great bluegrass concert at sunset (7:00) featuring the Doe Brothers. And if you really like bluegrass, bring you hat and jam with the Brothers after their gig! And there is more! Shoot for Free! Our new location is next door to Strictly Shooting - the largest, nicest, and upscale gun shop with the only indoor shooting range in Evansville. So win a free pass and shoot for free, bring your gun, or rent a machine gun and blast away! Better yet, win a free pass and introduce someone new to shooting for free. Plus you can bike for free! Win a free ride from our other neighbor, Keck Motorsports, who specializes in new Indians, used Harleys, and incredible choppers. And if you get hungry, a nearby barbeque wagon will fill the bill. The 12 hour affair will inspire, delight, and entertain you while presenting a host of national speakers who will present leading edge financial and patriotic info for your protection and profit. Plan now to arrive on Friday, October 1st for the special Meet and Greet Dinner with Ed Griffin. There will be a fee to attend the Dinner on Friday. We will post that info ASAP, as reservations will be required. Get your face in the video, pick up a commemorative coin, and join us for the beginning of our lucky 7th year at the Liberty Dollar Fair! If you are attending the new Liberty Dollar University 4 (LDU4)… not only have we turbo-charged the RCO program into a franchise-like business model, but LDU4 is also your opportunity to learn first hand by creating your own business plan with the new 150 page Workbook created by John Franklin, MBA and PhD. And WORKbook it is! John has an impressive record as an educator and as LDU4's cheerleader he will take you from zero to 180 MPH in three days and set you on a course to making $15,000 to $4.8 million. The three-day LDU4 starts promptly at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, September 28, and concludes on Thursday, September 30. The first annual RCO Congress follows on Friday, October 1, the Liberty Dollar Fair that celebrates the 6th Anniversary of the Liberty Dollar follows on Saturday, October 2. 2004. The Polls Are Lying Please also read the second article below regarding Vernon Robinson's great win towards a US Congressional seat: In a recent announcement from the Badnarik for President News ([email protected]), Rolf Lindgren, the former Polling Director, for Ed Thompson's 2002 campaign for Governor of Wisconsin clearly identified the extent of the bias of polling dis-information. The short version of the story is that the republi-crat polls lied and that Ed Thompson was the most popular candidate at the time of the election, yet Thompson always pooled between 0% and 11% in the published polls! Thompson should have won the election but didn't because every single poll had one intention, and that was to show that Thompson was not a contender to win, but rather, merely a 'factor'. The same tactical manure is happening against Michael Badnarik. But this time, Michael has Rolf Lindgren in his corner. In fact, the Badnarik campaign just spent over $20,000 to purchase 12 scientific polls from Scott Rasmussen Public Opinion Research, www.rasmussenReports.com. Now for the first time, in an unprecedented move, never embarked upon before in the history of the Libertarian Party, nor probably by any other alternative political party candidate, Michael Badnarik has moved to take his election directly to the people. They need our help. The Badnarik campaign IS a factor in this year's presidential race. But all the polls say he is a non- factor. The republi-crat polls are intended to reduce his media coverage, deter votes, and suppress his fundraising. But with YOUR help, Badnarik can be treated as the factor that he is! Move over Bill O'Reilly, there is now the Badnarik Factor! The Badnarik polls will combat three main biases:
1 The Badnarik polls will ask people if they would like to vote for Badnarik. To leave a candidate
like Badnarik, who will be on all 50 state ballots, off the polls because he is a Libertarian, is bigotry, pure & simple.
2 The Badnarik polls will not use so-called 'likely voter' screening. Half the adult population doesn't
like Bush/Kerry very much. When these people are asked 'Are you going to vote?' most will say
'Probably not!' Many would consider voting if they knew about an alternative.
3 The Badnarik polls will not use the speculative 'if the election were held today...' methodology. The
election is not held today, it is held in November. Rather, we will find out today who people are considering to vote for in November and position Badnarik in the voters' mind as a real candidate as the election draws near. The Badnarik campaign needs our help to pay for these polls as they open a new front in the War for Liberty. They need to purchase even more polls such as the Zogby polls. When the Rasmussen poll data rolls in, they need us to spread the information far & wide, all over the Internet, and all over the United States. For the sake of Liberty, please consider sending a Silver Liberty to Michael's campaign. He represents us, our ideals and even the Liberty Dollar which he carries every day! This is an election in which we should take a stand. Please visit https://badnarik.org/ for specifics on making a donation. Thank you. Meanwhile, Vernon Robinson may very well be elected to Congress! That's right, our very own Liberty Associate and RCO for the Winston-Salem region, WON the primary on Tuesday, July 20th for the North Carolina 5th District. Just think, wouldn't it be neat to have one of us in Congress... one convert out of 435--and we don't need all 435 to repeal the Federal Reserve... we only need 218 … only 217 more to accomplish our goal... Vernon got 13,766 votes yesterday, 23.6 percent, beating out State Sen. Virginia Foxx, who got 13,055 votes or 22.4 percent, according to complete but unofficial results. Vernon Robinson, a member of the Winston-Salem City Council, will now face Foxx next month in a runoff election on August 17 for the Republican nomination for the 5th Congressional District because neither got more than 40 percent of the vote. Vernon got a 23% plurality of the votes. He got more votes than Foxx. And if he wins in the runoff, he is sure to win the Congressional seat in the November election! Think about that and send a congratulatory email to Vernon ([email protected]), or better yet send a Silver Liberty to one of our flag bearers. The tide is turning and the Liberty Dollar is part of it. We can repeal the Federal Reserve and return our great country to value - one dollar at a time. Please consider supporting these two fine candidates and any other candidates who are part of the Liberty Economy in way you can. Thank you. If you are running for office, please email your name and campaign particulars and I will include you in the next newsletter. 6. Late Orders My apologies about some late orders. As always, we ask you to plan on a 30-day delivery time. But sometimes with special pieces like the BIG 2-1/2 inch diameter $50 Silver Liberty, the minting takes more time. And at other times, Sunshine gets jammed and then every once in a while we move, which just happened, and of course, is very disruptive to our normal business. Whenever these things happen we strive to shorten the time and contact everyone with pending orders. If for some reason this does not happen, please contact the NORFED office and find out the situation. All production is back on schedule and we have completed our move into the new corporate headquarters, so hopefully all orders should be on time. Again my apologies for some late orders. 7. Inflation Gauge to be Changed? If you can't change the inflation, change the gauge! The bottom line of this article is summed up by, "the PCE has come in at lower levels". So it has got to be better? You need to decide because if they can't change the figures ... they are going to change the index!!! Get your Liberty Dollars now... while
silver is still "reasonable"... This article was posted at 11:56 PM CDT on Thursday, July 15, 2004 By Angela Shah with The Dallas Morning News: Inflation gauge is facing competition Some economists wonder if Commerce's index is better than CPI. The Consumer Price Index is the government's best-known measure of inflation. But is it really the best? With inflation dominating the economic debate recently, stock traders and investment advisers have kept an anxious eye on the Labor Department's monthly CPI report. The June figure is due out today. But some experts - including whom else other than Alan Greenspan - are starting to favor a lesser- known index computed by the Commerce Department. It's the Personal Consumption Expenditures Deflator, or PCE. The differences run deeper than just competing calculations from different federal agencies, and it has relevance to more than the economic eggheads and financial wizards on Wall Street. The pace of price changes affects everyday Americans, too. The government's estimates of inflation influence mortgage and credit card rates through Federal Reserve moves, investments in Treasury securities and retirees' cost-of-living adjustments. Although the indexes look fairly similar, their slight variations tell an important story. Just a year ago, many economists worried over the possibility of deflation, or declining prices, as the CPI showed soft readings of core inflation, which measures prices of goods and services excluding food and energy. But unusually large upticks in core CPI in the first few months of this year alarmed Wall Street and got the Fed's attention. "It's not normal for inflation to pop up like that from very soft to very strong," said Ethan Harris, co- chief U.S. economist at Lehman Bros. in New York. In part, the increase in prices is by design. "The Fed a year ago was very concerned about the prospects of deflation and worked hard to ensure that that did not happen," noted Mark Zandi, chief economist at Economy.com in West Chester, Pa. That meant keeping interest rates at a 46-year low till starting another rate-hike cycle last month. Here's where the two-index issue comes in. The CPI and the PCE have both shown increasing inflation. But the PCE has come in at lower levels. Looking at that index, "inflation is not as damning as it would seem," said José Rasco, senior economist at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York. "One of the biggest advantages with the PCE deflator is that it's broader," he said. On the other hand, the CPI comes out several weeks earlier than the PCE for the same month. The Bureau of Labor Statistics compiles the CPI by collecting data from 23,000 retail and service establishments. They're in urban areas representing about 87 percent of the U.S. population. For the PCE, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis uses a larger number of goods and services across an even broader geographic area. That gives each individual component less weight in the final equation. Certainly, current economic and business conditions shouldn't have fostered such inflationary trends at all, some experts say. "I know right now if I didn't want my job, there would be 50 people waiting in line for it," Mr. Rasco said. "You have a 5.6 percent unemployment rate ... [and] a lot of people working part time who want to work full time. I don't see how that results in higher price pressures for labor." Nearly three years into an economic recovery, many companies still can't increase prices either, especially in high-tech and manufacturing industries, noted Donald Hicks, a professor of political economy at the University of Texas at Dallas.
"Pricing pressures have been really, really oppressive, and they don't feel comfortable passing their increased costs along," he said. And if this picture weren't complicated enough, cost cutting - not booming sales - is driving many strong corporate earnings reports, Dr. Hicks said. "Economists are struggling with the data," said Mr. Harris of Lehman Bros. "Inflation picked up without the pickup in employment and still having strong productivity gains. "It's a reminder to all of us that economics is more an art than a science," he added. E-mail [email protected] 8. NEW Address & OLD Liberty Checks Revisited Please note we have moved. Please address all orders or correspondence to our new address: The Liberty Dollar or NORFED 225 N. Stockwell Road Evansville, Indiana 47715. Phone number and email remain the same: 888.421.6181 or [email protected]. OLD Liberty Checks Revisited: Recently, some $20 Liberty Checks dated 2001 have surfaced. Some people tried to make a big deal that the bank would not take them and alluded to problems at NORFED. Nothing could be further from the truth. Just think about it. The checks are THREE years old. And (as we announced two years ago when we closed the bank account that they were drawn on) if you get any of these checks, simply send them to NORFED and we will honor them immediately. As always, if you have a problem, please call the NORFED office first at 888.421.6181 and get the truth about what is happening or just email [email protected]. The office is there to assist you, please contact them at any time. 9. Incident of the Month Editor note: Sometimes an Incident does not happen "in the month". Sometimes--as the one below illustrates--it takes some time for the incident to happen. Because of this, the basic way to use the currency is being redirected to minimums even these rare incidents of 'acceptance remorse' as it is important that we introduce the currency with the absolute least of disruption into the marketplace. This Incident was reported by Karl Reile in Buffalo, New York: My father drives to Canada frequently and on one trip last year around August or September 2003 he stopped at a fruit stand on the American side in Lewiston, NY. He asked the cashier if she would accept the silver as payment and she said yes. He paid with 2 Silver Libertys and left. In July of this year, my father again stopped at the same fruit stand and he noticed the same cashier so he said hello to her. She remembered him and she said something to the effect that the owner wanted to speak to him and asked my father if he would wait as she went and got the owner. He said sure and waited. The owner came out and asked my dad if he had given the 2 silver pieces as payment last time? He said yes and she asked if would he would wait for the police to come. He said sure. She then implied she was somehow ripped off by receiving two ounces of silver in place of the two pieces of green paper she normally may have received. Call it 'acceptance remorse'. At that, my father offered to buy them back and gave her $20.00 FRN. Shortly, the police came and took my father's name. But when he then asked for the two Silver Libertys back from the police, they said they were with the District Attorney's office. At this point my father didn't feel he could ask for his FRNs back from the owner, so he left, and unfortunately, will probably be out the two Silver Libertys. Live and learn. Editor note: Live and learn indeed! As I have advised before, if you experience 'acceptance remorse', always offer to exchange the Liberty Dollars back into FRNs, but NEVER do that without getting the silver back at the same time. Without fail, it is not the merchant that is ripped off, it is the Liberty Associate. 10. Question of the Month QUESTION: What are the hours of the New York Commodity Exchange for trading silver?
ANSWER: The silver market is open from 8:30 to 1:30 PM ET. These are the hours of the Exchange, not the brokers through whom orders must be placed. Just as we use Sunshine in Idaho with Pacific Time, active trading hours vary greatly. 11. Liberty Associate of the Month One of the first to recognize the potential of the Liberty Dollar was Charles (Dick) Douglas. Dick is constantly bringing new ideas and getting more people in involved with the Liberty Dollar. Like so many of the thousands involved with the Liberty Dollar, Dick simply carries the currency and the message of "honest money" wherever he goes and is constantly spreading the word. For that simple reason, we are proud to name Dick Douglas to be the Liberty Associate of the month. Thank you Dick for all the support and efforts you have brought to the ideals we hold in common. We look forward to many more years of your support! 12. Quote of the Month "The history of the race, and each individual's experience, are thick with evidence that a truth is not hard to kill and that a lie told well is immortal."-- Mark Twain Closing Remarks: Now, as we nudge up to our 6th Anniversary and the Liberty Dollar Fair, I look forward to welcoming you to our new location, sharing all the entertainment with you, and hearing your Success Stories of using the Liberty Dollar. For those of you who are still on the fence, then ask yourself, what will it take for you to join the party? Please call NORFED or your local RCO and get your questions answered. Then join the party. It is truly fun to use the new gold and silver currency! Many thanks to all the Liberty Associates, Merchants, and RCOs for your continued support. For it is only by banding together and adopting a free and independent currency which provides us with "just weights and measures" that we will be able to throw off the yoke of a manipulated monetary system and generate a peaceful and prosperous society. Thank you again for all your efforts to return America to value - one dollar at a time! Bernard von NotHaus Monetary Architect/Editor www.LibertyDollar.org 888.421.6181
