One-Quarter (1/4) Oz.
The NORFED 2006 $5 1/4 ounce Liberty Dollar was the only quarter ounce Silver Liberty Dollar produced for mass distribution, making it notable in their range of privately issued currency.
Created in 2006, it was minted in response to a growing demand for smaller fractional sizes that could be used more conveniently for trade and barter, especially with fluctuating silver prices. Its creation was a direct answer to those who found larger denominations less practical for everyday transactions.
There were more limited 1/4 pieces minted, such as the 2007 Silver Dalas and Gold Layered Dalas, though these are rare. The extremely rare 'split quarter' was also created using different sides of the 2006 quarter ounce obverse/reverse.
