Trillion Stars
Bernard von NotHaus, creator of the Liberty Dollar, has occasionally produced pieces for other private ventures. One such example is the Trillion Stars, made for a company called Trillion Stars Financial. Based in New Zealand (per corporate filings), the company marketed itself as an alternative to traditional banking, offering offshore accounts and multi-currency services.
While BVNH is credited with designing or producing the specie, the extent of his involvement with Trillion Stars' financial activities is unknown. These pieces are considered separate issues from the Liberty Dollar series and do not appear to carry the same ideological or monetary backing.
An interesting detail about the Trillion Stars is the discrepancy between the dates on each side. The obverse is dated 2009, while the reverse carries a 2011 copyright. This suggests the coin was likely minted in 2011 or later, despite the earlier date on the front. The 2009 date may refer to the founding year of Trillion Stars Financial, which aligns with the company's claims of being in business for several years prior to the coin's release.
According to my research, the following numbers allegedly came from BVNH:
A total of 5,000 one-ounce silver coins were allegedly minted in 2009. Of these, 200 were reportedly gold-plated and individually numbered, 100 were numbered only, and 50 included a special hallmark.
2009 $50 Trillion Stars

2009 $50 Trillion Stars HM (L) and SN (R)

2009 $20 Trillion Stars
